Grimaldi Lines and Minoan Lines ferries are fully equipped to accommodate disabled persons or persons with reduced mobility, hereinafter referred to as RMP, on board and to offer them maximum comfort during boarding/disembarking from the ship and during the navigation.
The staff at the ticket desk and on board will be at the complete disposal of the RMP to assist them during check-in, boarding and disembarkation.

Booking procedure

The reservation of an RMP can be made as follows:

Booking of special needs cabins

The special RMP cabins are equipped with more space to allow wheelchair access and manoeuvring. The configuration of the cabins and the number of passengers that can be accommodated varies from ship to ship. See the fleet for more information.

Timing

It is the RMP's duty to report in writing to This email address is being protected from spambots. Check-in

Underage passengers on board

Below are the procedures for access on board by underage passengers on Grimaldi Lines and Minoan Lines ferries.

All underage passengers must travel with a valid identity document according to the European Community Regulation n. 2252/2004. In no case a simple self-certification (according to DPR 445/2000) will be considered valid for boarding purposes.

Underage passengers under 14 years old

Minor passengers under 14 years of age must travel accompanied by at least one adult. If the minor passenger is accompanied by an adult other than his/her parents, it will be necessary to hand over to the ship's purser or the ship's captain a letter of trust with which the parents/legal guardians declare to entrust their child to a third person. The letter will have to be accompanied by a copy of the valid identity documents of both parents, and in the case of non-EU minors also the residence permit in which the child is also present. The designated accompanying person will be responsible for the child in accordance with the law.

Furthermore, in the case of passengers under 14 years of age with Italian nationality who are not accompanied by at least one parent on international routes, the accompanying declaration must be filed with the competent police headquarters. Underage passengers over 14 years old

Minor passengers over the age of 14 years may travel unaccompanied, but they will have to hand over a letter of release to the Chief Purser or to the Captain in which the parents/legal guardians declare that they assume full responsibility for any personal injury or damage caused to third parties.

In any case the Captain and the members of the crew will not take the minor passenger into custody and consequently the responsibility for what has been done by the minor on board the ship.

It is understood that the passenger will have to travel with all the necessary documentation to enter the country of destination. In case of denial of disembarkation due to lack of required documentation, the Company does not assume any responsibility.

Pregnant women on board

Pregnant women can travel on Grimaldi Lines and Minoan Lines ferries in complete comfort and relaxation. On board the ships future mothers will be able to walk on the internal and external decks, go shopping, read a book, relax and look at the sea while sailing. For the longest crossings we recommend a trip in the cabin.

Required documents

Women over the 6th month of pregnancy may only board if they are in possession of a medical certificate attesting to their physical fitness and consenting to travel. The certificate in question must be issued no earlier than 7 days from the date of departure.

In the event of a complicated pregnancy, a medical certificate is required for the pregnant passenger, regardless of the month of pregnancy.
Passengers who are expected to give birth in the 7 days following the date of departure, or who have given birth in the 7 days before the date of departure, are in no case allowed to embark.

In any case, the Captain has the full right to refuse a pregnant passenger who, in his unquestionable judgement, is in such a condition as to be unable to travel. Should this situation occur, the Company will only be obliged to reimburse the cost of the ticket.

Luggage

Included in the Grimaldi Lines and Minoan Lines ticket fare is the carriage on board of one piece of hand luggage of maximum size 56x45x25 cm containing only personal belongings. The carriage on board of luggage containing goods for sale is not permitted.

The rule is valid for all passengers with cabin, seat and deck accommodation.

During navigation the garages remain closed and access to them is prohibited, therefore passengers with cars must bring everything necessary for the crossing.

All items and furnishings may not be carried on board but must be registered and stored - for a fee - in the ship's garage.

It is absolutely forbidden to transport dangerous and harmful goods such as weapons, explosives, drugs, etc..

Passengers are fully responsible for their baggage and the Company is in no case liable for any theft, damage or loss of baggage and its contents.

In case of loss of personal belongings, if the passenger is still on board the ship, he/she should contact Reception directly. Grimaldi Lines and Minoan Lines offer the possibility to bring your pet with you. Below is some useful information to follow carefully:

Booking of pets in tow

The method of booking pets on board Grimaldi Lines and Minoan Lines ferries varies according to the Company chosen and can be made through the online booking system or through our call centre.

Minoan Lines and Grimaldi Minoan Lines ferries

The dog can be carried on board free of charge without any obligation to make a declaration when booking and without the possibility of booking the cage inside the animal accommodation.
Passengers who intend to bring their pet in the cabin when booking online will have to choose the "pet" cabin available as single, double, triple and quadruple on the appropriate screen. Pet-friendly cabins have a supplement of € 50 per route (€ 25 for the all-inclusive camping formula).

Grimaldi Lines ferries

When booking online, the pet must always be entered in the pet section, regardless of weight or size.

Areas accessible to animals

Pets are not allowed in the public areas, restaurants, lounges and passenger lounges.
However, they can be taken on a leash and muzzled on the outside decks, where they can walk with their owners.
Smaller animals such as rabbits, hamsters, birds and small fish must be carried on board in a pet carrier and are not entitled to a place in the pet accommodation.

Pets in cabin

Passengers who wish to bring their pet into the cabin must purchase the Welcome Dog Bag kit (cotton bag, 60cm x 90cm absorbent sleeper, waterproof bowl, roll of 15 hygiene bags). The price of the kit is €10 per cabin per journey. Each cabin can accommodate a maximum of 3 pets.

Cleaning and nutrition

The nutrition of the animal and the cleaning of the manure during the journey is under the complete responsibility of the owner. To travel with your pet you are required to bring the following on board:
- Food, water and bowls to feed the pet
- Leash and muzzle
- Palette

Toilet bags are available on board the ships and can be requested from Reception.

Mandatory documents

In order to travel with your pets, the following documentation is required:

International routes
- European Passport (PET)

Domestic routes
- Registration in the dog registry office (registered microchip)
- Certificate of good health issued by the veterinarian

Entry into the European Union of pets (dogs and cats) from Tunisia and Morocco
Dogs and cats introduced into the European Union from Tunisia and Morocco must be fitted with a microchip or clearly legible tattoo if affixed before 03/07/2011. The following documents are also required
- Health certificate referred to in Annex IV of the Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 577/2013;
- The health certificate must certify that the valid rabies vaccination has been carried out
- Carrying out the rabies neutralising antibody titration test in a laboratory recognised by the European Commission.
